DLA is hiring a Financial Accountant who will work as a part of the back office, non-client facing, accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, provide strategic insights through data analysis, and continuously improve our accounting processes.

The Financial Accountant will assist the Controller and team with the month-end close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis. The ideal candidate for the Financial Accountant role is a detail-oriented team player who can communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist the back-office accounting team in administering the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, cash receipt reporting and application, recording of journal entries, asset depreciation schedules, and reconciliation of bank statements.
• Perform general account analysis and provide insights when needed.
• Assist with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit, including compiling information and documents as needed.
• Maintenance of accounts payable vendor files and handling vendor manager approvals, reconciling and addressing issues with vendors in a timely manner.
• Manage accounts payable mailbox and ensure timely recording of all invoices.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform ad-hoc projects and analysis as requested by various members of management and the finance team.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 2 years of public accounting experience, or in a corporate accounting environment within professional services (CPA Firm, Law Firm, Consulting Firm)
• Advanced bookkeeping skills required
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and multitask.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software; NetSuite preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information.
